Judy is a leading expert in the new product development of fresh, value added, prepared chilled and shelf stable food products for retail and food service. She is a consultant to Cafeine Retail on a fresh food strategy for the Massmart group; a founding member of Food by Staple, a Product Development Company specializing in markets ranging from the commuter stream to the premium market. Judy is also the owner of Omegafoodworks, a foods marketing company creating local Provenance Brands.

Trained as a chef, Judy created and owned the well-known and popular SalmonBar in Franschhoek, a restaurant and food shop offering locally farmed and wild caught seafood. She created the brand Royale Highlands Trout and established new standards for aquaculture products and their marketing strategies. (www.salmonbar.co.za).
In 2000, Judy became the head of Foods Innovation and New Product Development at Woolworths, having played a key role in the establishment and growth of this prepared foods market as a selector and product developer for 10 years.
She also consulted to retail food suppliers by translating retail strategy to product strategy in the prepared foods and confectionery categories. Her clients included Foodcorp (Gull Foods and Fifers Bakery), Dewcrisp, Kees Beyers Chocolates and Three Streams Smokehouse.
